Violin Teacher

A violinist with a storied history in orchestral music, Mingus started learning violin from the young age of 7 under the tutelage of Christine Johnson and the internationally acclaimed Ivana Tomaskova. He played with the Melbourne String Ensemble, even going on tour with them through Croatia and Slovenia in 2013. In 2015, Mingus joined the Scotch College Symphony Orchestra, which also frequently tours internationally.

As a violin teacher, Mingus is highly qualified, having completed his Grade 8 AMEB with the outstanding grade of A+ in 2011. He also has an Associate in Music (AmusA) and a Licentiate in Music (LMusA), obtained in 2014 and 2016 respectively. Mingus is an extremely enthusiastic teacher who is patient, welcoming, and eager to pass his knowledge of the violin down to eager and aspiring violinists.
