Max Chen

Max is a skilled saxophonist and music teacher who has earned his AmusA in Saxophone performance. With a strong background in classical, ensemble, and jazz music, he combines great playing experience with a practical approach to teaching.

A recognized performer, Max won 1st Place in the CLASAX Group Woodwind division (2022) and was chosen as a VCE Top Class Performer, where he was invited to play two solo pieces. His experience includes playing Lead Alto for the Caulfield Grammar School Tier 1 Jazz Band, performing in the Generations in Jazz Division 2 Superband, and winning back-to-back School Prizes for Outstanding Musicianship (2022 & 2023). Max is passionate about helping students build solid technique, grow their confidence, and develop a real love for music.
