What is the Guitar?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The guitar is a string instrument played by plucking\/strumming a string, causing it to vibrate. This vibration is then amplified through different means depending on the type of guitar. For an acoustic guitar, the amplification is by the body of the guitar via the sound hole, and for an electric guitar, it is achieved through a pickup. Different notes can be produced by pinching the string at a fret (AKA shortening the string) to increase the frequency of the vibration, thus producing a higher pitch. The guitar has 6 strings that can be tensioned differently, but under standard tuning, the lowest note that can be produced is an E.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Playing the guitar requires intensive hand and finger training, which may lead to painful blisters forming on the fingers, especially for beginner players.
