What is the Violin?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The violin is an instrument played by using a bow made of horsehair and running the hair across the violin\u2019s strings. The friction caused by this motion causes the string to vibrate, generating a sound that is amplified by the violin\u2019s wooden body. Pitch is changed by using fingers to press sections of the string against the violin\u2019s fingerboard, causing the vibrating string to shorten. There are four strings on violin that can be tensioned differently, but under normal tuning, the lowest note is a G.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
