What are Vocals?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Vocals are, in essence, a \u2018wind\u2019 instrument that does not requiring anything except the singer themselves. The sound of singing is produced by air passing through the vocal cords as it is exhaled by the lungs. The vocal cords vibrate, creating a sound that is then amplified and shaped by the mouth. Pitch is controlled by the muscles in the larynx, which lengthen and shorten the vocal cords to decrease and increase the pitch accordingly.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

How hard is it to learn?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Initial vocal training requires practice to learn voice control and train the lungs. Singers must learn how to control the use of their breath while singing and how to utilise their diaphragm when singing. There are many techniques to learn, especially when reaching higher levels on singing. While there is no need to purchase an external instrument to learn singing (as the instrument is your own body), it is possible for there to be physical limitations due to health problems that can affect one\u2019s singing ability (such as vocal nodules, which may lead to hoarseness).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Singing is arguably the easiest instrument to pick up, as it is generally possible to sing so long as you have a voice.
