The clarinet is a wind instrument that is played by blowing into the mouthpiece to vibrate a reed, which then echoes notes into a cylindrical chamber that makes up the body of the instrument. Different note pitches are produced by pressing the keys on the clarinet, which then opens\/closes holes on the instrument to make the tube either longer or shorter.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The initial stages of learning a clarinet are a hurdle to overcome for beginner players. While it is simple enough to play different notes by learning the fingering, being able to produce a quality sound with a clarinet requires the training of mouth muscles and lungs. As with all wind instruments, you will need to train your lung capacity and blowing strength to be able to play longer and louder notes. Additionally, the initial cost of the clarinet is not cheap, and while cheaper plastic versions for beginners exist, those wishing to excel will need to purchase a solid, performance-worthy instrument.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

An often-used instrument in orchestras and wind ensembles, the clarinet has a unique dark mellow tone that is difficult to reproduce. Like all wind instruments, a key selling point of the clarinet is that it can \u201cbreathe life\u201d into songs. Due to the similarities in playing method, it is also easier to transition from playing clarinet to other wind instruments, particularly those that require reeds such as the saxophone.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
