Qi Geng

Qi Geng is an accomplished guitarist and experienced educator with over a decade of teaching experience, combining professional performance with a deep commitment to music education. A talented multi-instrumentalist, he began learning guitar and piano at the age of six and formed his first band by fourteen. His professional career gained national attention following the 2013 Super Boy competition, leading to the release of his award-winning single Solitary City and debut album Temptation, as well as a 27-city national tour. Alongside his performing career, Qi completed formal studies at the Beijing Vocational College of Opera and Arts and the Beijing Chaoyang National Academy of Arts, building a strong foundation in both musicianship and pedagogy.

Since 2016, Qi has taught at leading institutions including the Beijing Rock Heaven Music Centre, where he specialised in comprehensive guitar instruction and aural skills training. He has extensive experience mentoring young musicians, directing youth bands, and supporting aspiring songwriters. Qi’s students have achieved impressive milestones, including performing on BTV’s Spring Festival Gala. As a teacher, he offers a holistic approach that blends technical development with creativity, performance skills, and an understanding of the music industry, helping students grow into confident and expressive musicians.
