Jessie is an experienced guitarist with over 12 years of playing and performance experience. Originally from rural Victoria, she began learning guitar at the age of 10 and developed her passion for music throughout high school, culminating in outstanding success in VCE Music. Her achievements include invitations to perform at the prestigious 2023 Top Class and Top Acts showcases, becoming the first student from her school to perform at Top Class and being recognised for her musical excellence, creativity, and performance skills. In 2024, she was also invited to join the Top Class Regional panel in Traralgon, where she shared her insights and expertise alongside fellow Top Class alumni.
Jessie is currently studying a Bachelor of Music at the University of Melbourne under the guidance of Doug de Vries and Dr Ken Murray. She regularly performs in university concerts, including the Melba Hall concert series, VCA Jazz ensembles, MCM Guitar Ensemble concerts, and the University of Melbourne Wind Symphony. Alongside her studies, she enjoys performing in musical theatre productions and has volunteered with a range of universities, residential colleges, and student theatre companies. Passionate about teaching, Jessie is committed to creating a supportive, engaging learning environment where students can build confidence, develop strong musical skills, and cultivate a lifelong love of music while working towards their individual goals.
