Lydia Zhou, an experienced guzheng player and instructor, started her musical journey at the age of 5, dedicating over 13 years to mastering the instrument under the guidance of Huijing Wu, vice president of Guzheng Branch of Wuxi Musicians Association, Professor Yue Cao from Nanjing Normal University, and Professor Shujia Chen from Nanjing University of the Arts.

With a Grade 10 Certificate from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Lydia has consistently excelled in competitions, winning first prizes in the Jiangyin and Wuxi “Three Solo” competitions, as well as earning top honours in both provincial and national guzheng contests. Notably, she performed solo in teacher Wu Huijing’s “Fragrant Peach and Plum” concert.

Lydia has been passionately engaged in guzheng teaching since 2015 and has been awarded the title of music teacher of Central Conservatory of Music, member of Guzheng Branch of Wuxi Musicians Association and member of Alto Committee. Lydia has rich experience in teaching guzheng both children and adults of different ages and has guided her students to participate in competitions for many times, winning her the title of “Excellent Instructor”.
