Violin Teacher

Vitus is a violinist with many years of experience in training and performing with the violin. A current student working on his Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance at the University of Melbourne, Vitus has been studying the violin since 2006 as a student of Latvian violinist Sofija Kirsanova. He obtained his LTCL certificate in 2016, prior to which he went on 2 concert tours around Europe with the Hong Kong Children Symphony Orchestra as both its first violinist and Associate Concertmaster. Presently, he is a first violinist in the University of Melbourne’s Symphony Orchestra.

In 2018, Vitus took violin lessons with Professor Mark Gothoni from Berlin Arts University (Universität der Künste Berlin) for a short period and attended masterclasses headed by the concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker, Noah Bendix Bragley and the famous violinist Professor Zakhar Bron. He started his teaching career in violin in 2018 as well, and has taught students of various levels, from beginners to advanced level players. As a teacher, Vitus believes that there is more to music than just attending examinations and competitions. There are stories behind each piece to learn and understand, and Vitus hopes to teach his students about these stories, so that they too can learn how to express themselves through music.
