Yan Zhenglin is a renowned bamboo flute and xiao performer, and a council member of the Jiangsu Province Bamboo Flute Committee. He began learning the bamboo flute at an early age and studied at the Nanjing Little Red Flower Art Troupe. Under the guidance of distinguished flutist Lin Kesheng and Professor Cai Jingmin of Nanjing University of the Arts, he built a solid foundation in traditional Chinese music.

Mr. Yan has devoted himself to the performance and teaching of bamboo flute and xiao for over five decades, mastering refined techniques and developing a delicate, expressive style. He has frequently appeared on stage as a soloist and lead performer, serving as the principal flutist in various folk orchestras. He has also led ensembles to participate in numerous national music competitions, earning prestigious awards including gold medals, which highlight his outstanding artistry and leadership.

Mr. Yan is currently the principal bamboo flutist of the Nanjing Zhongshan Folk Orchestra, the Nanjing Philharmonic Folk Ensemble, and the Nanjing Yuhuashi Brass Ensemble. With extensive stage and teaching experience, he is known for his clear, approachable, and patient teaching style, earning him great popularity among students. He is widely regarded as an accomplished performer and an exceptional mentor in the field of Chinese wind instruments.
